Ms. Paula Dannheim

I am a native of Crane, Texas. I attended Sul Ross State University where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Kinesiology in 1988.  I returned to obtain a Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.

I began my teaching career in 1988. Fast forward in time…I have 22 years of classroom experience, 2 years as Instructional Coach, and 4 years as Assistant Principal. The majority of my career has been with Ector County ISD.

In my spare time, I enjoy sewing and quilting. I also love a lazy weekend of camping near my favorite fishing hole! I am blessed with wonderful friends and family. 

During the recent school closure due to Covid-19, I was the administrator for the ECISD Emergency Child Care Facility which housed newborn-7^th grade. The mission was to provide quality care in a safe and loving environment.  We provided opportunities for each child to learn by the use of their fine and gross motor skills, and senses. We also focused on the process of learning through age appropriate curriculum and materials. It was my privilege to serve the health care community. 

I have been the Assistant Principal at Hays STEAM Academy for the past two years. I am honored to have the opportunity to move into the Principal role. I am eager to hear your feedback as we move forward! Please do not hesitate to call or email with any questions or concerns.
